However, the beehive at his feet is usually an attribute of S Ambrose, the Prefect and Archbishop of Milan, another Doctor of the Church, the mentor of the Western Emperor Gratian and of S&nbsp;Augustine of Hippo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"218\" height=\"719\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saintpaulschurch.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/20c-Sacristy.png\" alt=\"S Augustine of Hippo\" class=\"wp-image-1024\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.saintpaulschurch.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/20c-Sacristy.png 218w, http:\/\/www.saintpaulschurch.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/20c-Sacristy-91x300.png 91w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 218px) 100vw, 218px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>S Augustine of Hippo<\/strong>, (354-430) the great Doctor of the Western Church who established Latin scholarship for the whole of the middle ages.
