There is a very large repertoire of Plainchant masses, Polyphonic masses from the 16th<\/sup> and 17th<\/sup> centuries, settings from the Viennese tradition and modern settings, including a few special commissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concerts<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

S.<\/font> Paul\u2019s also hosts concerts for the Brighton Early Music Festival (BREMF) each autumn, including the BREMF LIVE! series for young artists, and the church is the rehearsal venue for the BREMF Community Choir and BREMF Consort of Voices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other regular performers at S. Paul’s include The Brighton Singers and the Brighton Chamber Choir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S.<\/font> Paul\u2019s has a small but confident choir which offers excellent support to anyone wanting to improve their repertoire, musicality, and sight reading.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you would like to join the Choir please ask the Director of Music, Martin McPherson-Pottle<\/a>, by email or at the organ after Mass.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

T<\/font>he interior of S. Paul\u2019s is the picture perfect setting for a traditional church wedding. Newly restored after the devastating fire at Christmas 2010, the beauty of the church will add so much to the joy of your special day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your wedding, whether it be simple or grand, can be celebrated within the traditional Church of England Marriage Service or a Nuptial Mass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S. Paul\u2019s can also provide a wide selection of joyful wedding music and our excellent choir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are plenty of photo opportunities in the church precincts, the celebrated Fishermen\u2019s Vestry, the Vicarage Garden and lively West Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between the Station and the sea, in the heart of the old town, S. Paul\u2019s is surrounded by Brighton\u2019s best hotels and plentiful parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Organ<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

T<\/font>he church has no less than three organs. an excellent organ which was built by George Hunter of Clapham and inaugurated in August 1893. It was renovated and augmented between 1968-70.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the ravages of time and the great fire in 2010 have greatly reduced the organ’s functions and made it very difficult to play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it was decommissioned for cleaning after the fire, its place was taken by a small, sweet-voiced electronic chamber organ. Now, alas, the ancient bellows have almost expired and sound like a faulty air-conditioning system. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

We now have a new full-sized Viscount <\/strong>digital organ, a three manual Envoy 350-FV<\/a><\/strong>, which will serve us very well until the pipe organ is fully reconditioned. Alongside this is an excellent Viscount chamber organ, a one manual Vivace 10<\/strong>, that accompanies the choir.
