ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING
After Mass on Sunday 4 May, we hold the Annual Meetings for our parish as we elect Churchwardens and several members of the Parochial Church Council, in addition to transacting other business that pertains to the life of our community of faith. Paperwork for this meeting is available on the table in the narthex. Please do stay behind after the Mass for this if you are able.

ST MARTIN’S 150TH ANNIVERSARY
Hot on the heels of St Paul’s celebrating its 175th anniversary in 2023 and St Bart’s celebrating its 150th anniversary last year, our sister church of St Martin’s keeps its 150th anniversary this year. We are invited to St Martin’s for a special Mass at 7pm on Thursday 1 March at which Bishop Martin will preside and preach.

PRAYING THE HOLY ROSARY
We meet again at 6pm on Monday 5 May at St Bart’s to pray together the Glorious Mysteries.
All are welcome.

ORGAN RECITALS AT ST BART’S

FRIENDS OF ST PAUL’S ANNUAL DINNER
Forms for the Friends’ Annual Dinner, which will take place in church on Saturday 24 May (6.30pm for 7pm), continue to be available. Tickets cost £40 per head. A bar will be on offer. Forms and full payment need to be received by Mark in the Parish Office by Thursday 8 May. Wine should be pre-ordered and paid for when you purchase your ticket.

CHRISTIAN AID COLLECTION AT ST PAUL’S
On Sunday 11 May, we will be holding a retiring collection at St Paul’s to support the work of Christian Aid, which as of 2025 is in its 80th year. If you will not be at Mass then, you are still able to contribute to this very worthwhile cause by giving your donation to Fr Thomas ahead of this day.

WAGNER GROUP MAY DEVOTION
Also on Sunday 11 May, we are invited to our sister church of St Barnabas’, Hove, for a May Devotion beginning at 4pm in honour of Our Lady in this her month.

ADULT BAPTISM & CONFIRMATION
It has been a great joy over the last few years to prepare a number of adults for baptism and confirmation. If you or someone you know would like to be prepared to receive these Sacraments, St Bart’s will be hosting a Deanery Confirmation in mid-June. Fr Thomas will be arranging some sessions for after Easter, so do be in touch with him.

CHURCH WATCHING
At the recent meeting of the PCC, Fr Thomas drew attention to the significant increase in income that we saw last year from donations left in the box in the narthex and in the votive candle stands. The respective increases from 2023 were just under £1,300 and £1,100. It is a great testimony to those of you who so generously give of your time to keep our church open that not only do people have the chance to experience the beauty of holiness in our building, but we as the community of faith here benefit from those who visit and leave us a donation.

APPEAL FROM OUR FOOD BANK
Our city’s food bank is in considerable need of more donations. We have been asked to flag the particular need for tinned meat, fish, tomato and vegetables as well as pasta, rice, tinned fruit, tinned desserts and instant coffee. Supporting the needy is an integral part of our Christian discipleship, so if you can offer some help, please take your donations to the food bank, which is located at the Calvary Church, BN1 4NJ. Alternatively, if you wish to donate a sum of money for the food bank to then spend on what they need, you can do so using the link: http://www.brightonfoodbank.org.uk/how-can-you-help/.
