Our study course this Lent, which explores the Gospel according to Matthew, continues this week at St Bart’s at 6.30pm on Tuesdays following the Mass there. These sessions are open to everyone, including to us here at St Paul’s.

We continue to pray the Stations of the Cross on Thursday at St Bart’s at 11.30am and on Saturday at 11am here at St Paul’s.

VEILING IN CHURCH
Ahead of Passiontide, we will be veiling statues and crucifixes in church after Mass this Saturday. Please do come along to lend a hand if you are available.

UPCOMING CONCERT
Our very own Sasha, who sings in our choir, will be hosting a concert here at St Paul’s at 1pm on Saturday 21 March, with a journey into nineteenth-century French poetry, as set in songs by Fauré, Chausson, Duparc and Hahn. No tickets need to be bought for this, but a donation of £5 per person is suggested that will go towards church funds. Please do make a note of this event and come along if you can.

FRIENDS OF ST PAUL’S QUIZ NIGHT
We are looking forward to hosting another quiz night here at St Paul’s on Saturday 21 March. Doors open at 6.30pm for 7pm. WAGNER GROUP EASTER CELEBRATION
Booking has opened for our dinner at Donatello on Pentecost Sunday (24th May), following Evening Prayer and Benediction here at St Paul’s, which begins at 6pm on this day. For three courses and service, we are only being charged £18.50 per person. Drinks and bread will be paid for separately on the night.
Booking closes on Sunday 12th April. To book a place by then, please let Fr Thomas know and give him your money, preferably by cash.

Easter Vigil

FUNERAL PLANS
Fr Thomas has lately met with several parishioners to discuss their funeral plans and to be given a record for safe keeping for when the time comes. Having something in writing not only gives us peace of mind but can also help those who will make such arrangements happen, especially if they are not familiar with what a Christian funeral comprises. If, then, you would appreciate the chance to meet with him, please do be in touch.

CHURCH WATCHING
We are incredibly blessed here at St Paul’s to be able to have our church building open for several hours each Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. This is only possible thanks to the selflessness of our team of church watchers, two of whom are always on duty when the building is open to the public. It would be good to expand this team, and so if you might be able to give some of your time to the very worthwhile cause of enabling more people to experience the beauty of holiness here, please have a word with Fr Thomas. Even if you feel you can only give time on an irregular basis, perhaps to cover one of our existing team being on holiday, your contribution would be much appreciated.

APPEAL FROM OUR FOOD BANK
Our city’s food bank is in considerable need of more donations. We have been asked to flag the particular need for tinned meat, fish, tomato and vegetables as well as pasta, rice, tinned fruit, tinned desserts and instant coffee. Supporting the needy is an integral part of our Christian discipleship, so if you can offer some help, please take your donations to the food bank, which is located at the Calvary Church, BN1 4NJ. Alternatively, if you wish to donate a sum of money for the food bank to then spend on what they need, you can do so using the link: http://www.brightonfoodbank.org.uk/how-can-you-help/.
